Malcolm ( Del) Delameter, age 82, of Port Orange, FL passed away on Thursday August 10, 2017. Malcolm was born in Poughkeepsie, NY son of the late Melvin and Mildred Delameter. A resident of Port Orange since 1976, Malcolm honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and served on the USS Wright and several submarines. He had a long career in construction and locally worked for DW Paving and CRS Rinker. He had a passion for NASCAR and earned his license in 1961. Malcolm was always working on race cars and raced...

Malcolm ( Del) Delameter, age 82, of Port Orange, FL passed away on Thursday August 10, 2017. Malcolm was born in Poughkeepsie, NY son of the late Melvin and Mildred Delameter. A resident of Port Orange since 1976, Malcolm honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and served on the USS Wright and several submarines. He had a long career in construction and locally worked for DW Paving and CRS Rinker. He had a passion for NASCAR and earned his license in 1961. Malcolm was always working on race cars and raced for many years in the North East. He built a race car (#22) that was entered into the Daytona 500 and was driven by the late Marvin Panch. His other hobbies include fishing, camping, and traveling to the Florida Keys and Lake George in NY. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Carol of Port Orange; sons, Alan (Sandy) of Lakeland, David of Ormond Beach and Richard (Kelly) of Port Orange; grandchildren, Ashley, Cynthia and Brittany and great-grandchildren; Alexis, Hayden, Adelynn and Makai. Besides his parents Malcolm was preceded in death by his wife Josephine and grandson Brad. A graveside service with military honors will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Volusia Memorial Park, Ormond Beach, Florida.
