Rita Marsden, 95, took her last breath on June 17, 2017, at home, under the care of Kindred Hospice. Rita was born in Haledon, NJ on February 22, 1922. She was the eighth child of nine brothers and sisters.

She met her future husband, Saul Marsden, at DuMont Television Labs in East Paterson, NJ. They were married on May 21, 1955 and had a son, Michael Dominic Marsden.

Rita Marsden, 95, took her last breath on June 17, 2017, at home, under the care of Kindred Hospice. Rita was born in Haledon, NJ on February 22, 1922. She was the eighth child of nine brothers and sisters.

She met her future husband, Saul Marsden, at DuMont Television Labs in East Paterson, NJ. They were married on May 21, 1955 and had a son, Michael Dominic Marsden.

While in New Jersey she worked numerous jobs and volunteer work in Passaic County. She was involved in the Haledon PAL and Public Schools.

Years later, Rita and Saul moved to Ormond Beach, FL where they started raising their granddaughter Jasmine.

They lived in Ormond Beach, FL for 32 years and just recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary. She was the happiest when she with husband, her siblings, her children and her friends. But the biggest joy of her life was being a grandmother to Emilee and June.

She worked for the Volusia County Public Schools as a Teacher's Aide at Tomoka Elementary and in the School Way Cafe at Ormond Beach Middle School. Before retirement, she worked part-time at Bealls in Ormond Beach.

Rita was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Saul Marsden of Ormond Beach, FL, sister, Emily Tavecchio of Little Falls, NJ, son, Michael D. Marsden of Queens, NY, daughter, Jasmine Marsden Jones (Patrick) of Daytona Beach, FL, grandchildren: Emilee and June, sister in law, Iris Marsden Hammer, nephews, Tim Egan, Randy Martino, Bobby Martino, nieces, Laurie Egan, Lois Castronova, Arlene Miller, Maria DeLalla, Alita Corovelli, Donna Sysyn, and Renee Davis. She is also survived by countless family and friends.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Dominic and Celia, her brothers, Anthony, Dominic, Edmond, and Bobby, and her sisters, Flora, Aurrora, and Geraldine, and her newphew, Baptist "Sooky" Rigamonte.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Ormond Beach, FL on July 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
